Supplies

Orange Tissue Paper (cut into easy squares for tiny fingers to hold)

Green Tissue paper

Red Tissue Paper

Blue Tissue Paper

Black Construction Paper

Cotton Balls

Yarn

Pom poms

Contact Paper (We used the Scotch brand sheets, but the Con-Tact brand is fantastic and much more cost effective if you plan to do more Contact Paper crafts.)

Marker for outlines

(I tried both a Sharpie and a dry erase marker. I liked the dry erase because I could correct mistakes in my drawing easily, but it rubbed off on my window. The Sharpie is obviously more permanent and you can’t fix mistakes.)

PumpkinPumpkin Contact Paper Halloween Craft

Draw a simple pumpkin shape on the non-sticky side of the contact paper. Peel the protective layer to reveal the sticky side and pin or tape it to the window, sticky side up.

Provide black construction paper triangles and squares. Guide the toddler to create a Jack-O-Lantern face using the triangles and squares.

(If you want a non-spooky Halloween craft for your toddler, you can leave out the Jack-O-Lantern face)

Provide orange and green tissue paper squares for the pumpkin and stem. Guide your kid to cover the stem with the green and the rest of the pumpkin in orange. Try to keep them inside the lines, but it’s not a big deal.

Encourage them to cover as much as possible!

When they’re done, trim around the outside lines of the pumpkin with scissors and display in a window.

SpiderSpider Contact Paper Halloween Craft

Draw a simple web shape on the non-sticky side of the contact paper. Peel the protective layer to reveal the sticky side and pin or tape it to the window, sticky side up.

Provide black construction paper circles and skinny rectangles for the spider’s head, body, and legs. Guide your toddler to create a spider on the web.

Provide cotton balls. Show the toddler how to dab at the contact paper with the cotton ball, leaving the contact paper with strands of cotton to create the web.

Encourage them to cover as much as possible!

When they’re done, trim around the outside lines of the pumpkin with scissors and display in a window.

GhostGhost Contact Paper Halloween Craft

Draw a simple ghost shape on the non-sticky side of the contact paper. Peel the protective layer to reveal the sticky side and pin or tape it to the window, sticky side up.

Provide black construction paper ovals and help the toddler to use three to create a ghost mouth and eyes.

Provide cotton balls and show the toddler how to dab at the contact paper with the cotton ball, leaving the contact paper with strands of cotton to create a transparent, fluffy ghost.

Encourage them to cover as much as possible!

When they’re done, trim around the outside lines of the pumpkin with scissors and display in a window.

ScarecrowScarecrow Contact Paper Halloween Craft

This Halloween toddler craft is a little less spooky and has a lot more room for creativity!

Draw a Scarecrow shape on the non-sticky side of the contact paper. Peel the protective layer to reveal the sticky side and pin or tape it to the window, sticky side up.

Provide yarn, pom poms, cotton balls, and all the colors of tissue paper you have left.

Encourage the toddler to create a face, hair, and clothing for the scarecrow with their supplies.

When they’re done, trim around the outside lines of the pumpkin with scissors and display in a window.
